Moment. Poem by Douglas Goins

Moment.

never once in life was life not meant to be lived.
not to have felt pain, love, and loss.
never has it once given you that impossible moment.
but what if it did.
what if somebody lived in that moment.
even if it was for two seconds.
what if the ability to love was constant.
nobody would fear loss.
there would never be a slow death.
no more pain.
people would feel something more that love.
something that nobody in this world could ever create.
something that nobody could even imagine.
maybe it will change.
and there will be a moment where all that is possible.
but for now.
we are in this moment.
right now.
no looking back.
no turning around.
just now.
and we live.
it might not be the best way we live.
but we do.
and who knows.
maybe that moment cant be found.
but if it could be found.
would you want it to be.
would you want a moment to be so great.
that you miss out on life.
the life we had.
or once was.
the life or moment that made you a person.
instead of being that machine in the system.
even though the arguments make you tired.
you feel that moment.
what if the new moment you didnt feel.
wouldnt that be worst than what you had.
wouldnt that make life not life.
make it something else.
make it a reality that only happens in happily ever afters.
but we dont have those happily ever afters.
we have life.
and we make our own happily ever afters.
so live.
because thats life.
and who knows.
it might feel so wrong.
but you will still hold on.
and you'll get it together.
because its your life.
that life thats make you live.
and gives you that happily ever after.
