I yearned to be a special bird
That sings a human song!
The nightingale was my first choice,
My dream and wish for long.

I thought the crow would come back with more friends;
To my surprise, it didn’t return at all;
The rotten fruits turned feast for worm-fiends;
For days on end, that crow never did call!

Weren’t they women, who brought forth kids many,
And went through labour pains to give them birth,
And nursed and reared them all with love truly,
When almost earning their heaven on earth?
...
God does not dwell atop just mountains, hills,
Nor in far-off foreign places alone;
God doesn’t prefer statues of stones but wills
His devotees all, sinless heart to own!

The land that once was famous for worship
Has few villages, houses and inmates,
Now steeped in misery and great hardship,
As rain and flood-waters slowly abates!

Death spares no one!
Death spares no earthling!
Death spares no human being!
Death cuts the thread of life certainly;
...
The glass of spirit that you hold aloft,
Could ruin lives of own and loved ones all;
And making it a habit to drink oft,
Can cause the inebriated ones’ fall.

The branches cut the wind fierce to a breeze;
The leaves break sunlight into chequered beams;
The shade of trees affords all travelers peace;
The wearied ones sleep ’neath the trees in dreams!

Commune with Christ through his Body and Blood,
For He’s present in Eucharistic Host!
This is the Christian soul’s Heavenly food,
Into which bread to dwell comes Holy Ghost.

Pre-occupied is man in worldly gains;
Who knows when comes, sudden, cruel demise?
Most men forget the few celestial lanes,
As virtues get overtaken by vice.
