Dustin Newman Poems

As the cold winter's bite fades into the past,
So too must the pain of memories gone.
And when those thoughts, removed at last,
More humble a person you are alone.
...

Absolute beauty is,
A day without care.
A night without worry.
A friend without contempt.
...

Do you miss me?
Would you kiss me?
Do you know me?
Would you hold me?
...

4.

Open the book.
Read to me our story.

'Upon ones chest, subtly breaks.
...

You gave me the most beautiful gift.
Life, some would say. But it is you.
Without you, life's choices are without consequence.
Your notes of me console my heart.
...

Pick'en myself up. Dust'in myself off.
Regardless of the blocks, blood is fillin the cloth.
Keep the swings comin, only half connect.
The rest I laugh off, I deserve respect.
...

A solemn remark. A pointless notice.
A remembrance of you.
My countless omissions of sincerity pass as souls from the earth.
Opportunities wrought with error.
...

Speak your heart now. It may never beat again.
Utter the attentive words you hold true.
Stir thoughts of the sun filled days to come.
Bleed them to the wind so that the world may know.
...

9.

I was aware of everything. So I thought.
You passed beyond my sight and into my heart.
My guard was dropped but for a moment.
You are gone.
...

10.

Away one would cry. Days upon days upon days.
Salt ridden anquish from places so bare.
Amongst mortal sin, love grants a blossom.
Breaking insidious danger to bloom thus.
...

11.

Pierce me upon my heart.
Your gaze consumes me.
Slowing time as you desire.
Lost inside you.
...

I listen to your heartbeat,
As I lay against your chest.
Like an inmate with few hours,
Will you grant my last request.
...

13.

I've never seen you cry.
You must though.
My fingers have never wiped a tear from your face.
That would comfort my pain?
...

Why does it hurt so much?
Why does the pain linger?
Why can you not forget?
But through adversity comes strength,
...

Life is a burning candle.
Bringing light to others in the darkest of times.
Let not the wind of trouble temper your blaze.
Waste not its light for at any time your flame may die.

As the cold winter's bite fades into the past,
So too must the pain of memories gone.
And when those thoughts, removed at last,
More humble a person you are alone.

Move your life forward mocks the crow.
It sits beyond my stain filled glass.
Empty it all into your soul.
Its warmth brings healing and comfort at last.

Love brings pain and without condition.
Beating your life against the rocks.
Hold not long to its enticing position.
Lost is the key to your heart in its box.

Trace with fingers along missed shadows,
Never to appear and show such sway.
Such things you know need not hallows,
Far kept them for another day.

Happiness is your place to secure,
The puzzle awaits its final piece.
Seek out its tempting allure.
As pain will stop, will halt, will cease.
