The cow in the field, she stops to ponder
What is she thinking? I look and wonder
She looks towards me and I look back
As I shuffle along the country track
...

The boy in the bubble - he can't see through
He's locked inside with nothing to do
He screams for help but no one hears
...

The weather is sunny, we start to moan
It's so hot we say in a dulcit tone
This time last year lessons were learnt
...

He's fast asleep and in his dreams
No sounds of rockets, no distant screams
The sun is bright, the skies are blue
There's a playground now that he's running to
...

I'll walk away but I won't despair
You know in my heart you'll always be there
I'm here for you and I always will be
Why was I forced to set you free?
...

I ain't quite black and I ain't quite white
Some would say I'm not quite right!
I've an answer for everything, right or wrong
I wind people up - it never takes long!

How does it work dear? Lay down and you'll see
These bright lights here - they're called UV

What skin type are you? Hmmm, I'd say fair
...

But he can feel every dropp of rain that lands
...

From nowhere on the horizon it will suddenly appear,
As fast as lightning upon us then promptly disappear
It will leave it's mark though, of this you can be sure
The booze, the food, the decos and the occasional family war

Lots of people, lots of noise,
Lots of smells, lots of toys,
Lots of music, lots of fun,
Lots of laughter from everyone.

Money is tight we all weep and moan
Off to the bank again to extend the loan

Down the shops for economy and own brands
...

He'll leave it there and off he'll wonder
He won't think of his actions - no time to ponder

Along comes a woman but she had the sixth sense

Emotion Without Emotion

The cow in the field, she stops to ponder
What is she thinking? I look and wonder
She looks towards me and I look back
As I shuffle along the country track

I stop and turn and she's still standing there
She's looking at me with eyes that stare
A certain intelligence - a sort of knowing
The realisation that soon she'll be going

As each day passes her future grows shorter
As I study her closely my eyes start to water
Should I feel guilt or think about her further
Or maybe I'll go into town for a burger...
