We Survived

Through blizzards, snow, and rain;
Through earthquakes, hell, and flames;
Through darkened nights, and brightened lights;
We Survived.

Through tears of sorrow, joy, and pain;
Through broken hearts, and monstrous games;
Through weary blacks, and doubtful whites;
We Survived.

Through clouds of smoke, and broken glass;
Through screaming matches, and scars that last;
Through crowds of black, and angelic sights;
We Survived.

Though problems struck with immense weight;
We did not buckle, we did not break.
Our hearts were injured, but not our strength;
We gathered up courage for each day,
And We Survived.
