In the still of the morning
Blue-white light filters in through the blinds
While the world around me says good morning
I've yet to say goodnight
...

Tonight, a light
Has gone out, forever
Never shall I see one like it again
Not ever
...

Sweet little one
How you fill up my heart
With your eyes all aglow
In ways you'll never know
...

Hair like burnished onyx, draped o'er somber blades
Garbed in silken turquoise, cascading down in waves
Upon her sunken features, beneath skin of ivory pearl
Frozen on papyrus, exists a hollow girl
...

Your scent lingers on cold clothes
Putting my memory to shame
I breathe you deeply, but lord knows
It will never be the same
...

The world around me, moves, so slowly
I try to fade, become part of this, facade
But their eyes, just stare, drowning me with this fear
...

There is, something special, about this girl
With her eyes aglow, Watch her red curls unfurl
From the knot, that kept them, out of her face
She spins on her own, to her slow steady pace
...

8.

Take this disaster and shrug it off
Laugh in the face of your own demise
Hold the Good Book high and know its lies
In your place another will rise

Early Morn

In the still of the morning
Blue-white light filters in through the blinds
While the world around me says good morning
I've yet to say goodnight

Is it will wishings or commands
That these mornings and nights be well
For I've yet to share the in the giving
Of well wishings on these spells

The birds are calling and hunting
For this mornings early worm
But alas I am a firefly
To old to really burn

The sun has risen somewhere,
The yellow yet to reach me
If I close my eyes, and play pretend
I don't have to wake up again

White ice falls in heavy motions
Watching it makes me weak
I give to the childish notions
That snow is marvelous and meek

I'm tired of feeling lonely
While the hearts around me thrive
I've lost every single notion
Of ever being alive

The day-glow begins to soften
Like the bulb of the kitchen light
Casting the world through a filter
That everything looks alright

Blue makes things much sharper
White makes rooms for mistakes
But what that drowsy yellow glow doesn't show
Is the dark bags I get from life

I feel like a battery
with one less working cell
Just floating in the ocean
Coasting on another swell
