Mirth Poem by Paige Johnson

Mirth

Rating: 5.0

Take this disaster and shrug it off
Laugh in the face of your own demise
Hold the Good Book high and know its lies
In your place another will rise

Don't feel so special, you're not the first
There's plenty more who's got the thirst
You're nothing but a part, easy to replace
Sure its not the same, but it fills your vacant space

Take a look at what you want, and leap
There is no sense in loosing sleep
Sure you could just count the sheep
Or take another between you're sheets

Has your life gone awry?
Clipped your wings, can't you fly
Welcome back to planet earth
Here we take death in silent mirth

Broken, beaten, born to die
How will you live out your lie
Wear it on your hand, a ring?
Paint your life out, dance, sing?

I prefer the art of words,
And in this rhyme, I take your self worth
Thought you were so strong and mighty
Watch this world take you ever so lightly

Oh, don't youunderstand?
I'm not going to hold your hand
You're not a child, raise your head
In the end we will all be dead

Love these lines: Take this disaster and shrug it off Laugh in the face of your own demise Why such a gloomy stance for a person so young..... but your verse is well written.
