ഓണം
ഓണം
നിലാവിറങ്ങുന്നൊരോണം
കിനാവുകള്‍ക്കാരോഹണം
ദൂരെ ഭൂതത്തിന്‍റെ മായും
തീരങ്ങളിലൊരു ചെറുപയ്യന്‍റെ
മെയ്യില്‍ തളിര്‍ത്ത രോമാ‍ഞ്ചം
ഓണമൊരു മായികസ്വപ്നം
പെങ്ങമ്മാര്‍ പൂക്കളം തീര്‍ക്കെ
മണ്ണുരുട്ടിയടിച്ച്, പിന്നെ
കണ്‍മയങ്ങാതെയിരുന്ന്
രാമുഴുവന്‍ പ്രയത്നിച്ച്
മാവേലിയെത്തീര്‍ത്ത പയ്യന്‍
ദൂരെയേതോ ഭൂവിഭാഗത്തില്‍
ശീതോഷ്ണസജ്ജ ഗേഹത്തില്‍
ചാരുകസേരമേലേറി
കാണും കിനാവിന്‍റെ നാമം
ഓണം തിരുവോണം അഭിരാമം
വീണ്ടും വരട്ടെ വര്‍ഷാവര്‍ഷം
രോമാഞ്ചഭൂഷകളേകാന്‍
ഈയോണ സുന്ദരസ്വപ്നം
പക്ഷെ, ചൊല്ലുകെന്നോടുഞാനെ-
ങ്ങിനെയെത്തിക്കുമീ പുഷ്പഹര്‍ഷം
എന്‍റെ പ്രാമിലുറങ്ങും ശിശുവില്‍
ഓണം കാണാത്തരോമനക്കുഞ്ഞില്‍?
I understand that Onam is quite significant for you in many ways this time! This is your first Onam after your becoming a grandpa! The tiny addition to your family, I am sure has added to the Onam festivities! ദൂരെയേതോ ഭൂവിഭാഗത്തില്‍ ശീതോഷ്ണസജ്ജ ഗേഹത്തില്‍ ചാരുകസേരമേലേറി കാണും കിനാവിന്‍റെ നാമം ഓണം തിരുവോണം അഭിരാമം........ So the vivacious boyhood has paved way to another stage of life. Yes, we have to accept the inevitable changes with grace! Enjoyed!

വീണ്ടും വരട്ടെ വര്‍ഷാവര്‍ഷം രോമാഞ്ചഭൂഷകളേകാന്‍ ഈയോണ സുന്ദരസ്വപ്നം പക്ഷെ, ചൊല്ലുകെന്നോടുഞാനെ- ങ്ങിനെയെത്തിക്കുമീ പുഷ്പഹര്‍ഷം എന്‍റെ പ്രാമിലുറങ്ങും ശിശുവില്‍ ഓണം കാണാത്തരോമനക്കുഞ്ഞില്‍? To the very next generation, Onam is lost in its beauty. The third gen, of course, wont care. It is useless to weep over the loss!
