01 Not Leaving Out The Rest(An Unexpected Consequence) Poem by Emma Isdal

01 Not Leaving Out The Rest(An Unexpected Consequence)

Rating: 5.0

When you smiled at me and said hello
I tried to find an excuse to go
Cause I already knew what was coming next
And Im so god damned tired of that same old text
But you kept smiling and talking to me
And as the night crept on I couldnt help but see
that there was something else lurking under your skin
I suddenly wanted a chance to get in

and then the weeks went on and you said you were mine
(or at least you would be for a specific time!)
you treated me as if I was your Queen
and I managed to forget that you were only eighteen...
but I couldn`t help it- I pushed you away
God forbid that anyone should stay
I couldn`t make the best of the short time we had
but at the end of it now- I think we`re both glad

and the story goes on cause you changed me, you see
I somehow realized that there was something wrong with me(!)
all of my fears and insecurities came out
and I stood at the edge and threw away my doubt
then came this guy- smiled and said hello
and I didnt look for anywhere to go
I opened my heart and dared to let him in
oh no- I\ve committed the ultimate sin...

but thank you my dear(!) for helping me see
what a poor little creature I could have turned out to be
eventhough I hurt you I know youre my friend
cause you managed to get the one you wanted in the end
and Im with him and youre with her
and she`s the one who found the cure
I wish you my friend all the best
cause I`m finally ready to face the rest!

This sounds like a major breakthrough. Sometimes it takes someone else to lead us through. A very frank and well written description of a life changing experience.
