12 Years

She tries so hard to hold on
To hold on to something that’s not there
Nor never was
Or ever will be

She waits and waits
For god knows what
Trying to hold on to something that was never there
Nothing was ever there

she cannot see what is to come
She is to blinded by her own past
She tries not to fall
Not to get hurt

All a long I was trying to break her walls down
And she never knew I was Building mine up
