126th Element: A Story Of Being Different Poem by Sam Tackett

126th Element: A Story Of Being Different

125 elements, and im the odd one out.

These minds try to discriminate against my palette
but when people try to stop, i wont freakin' allow it
my lyrics gotta message, just cant be stopped
like that druggie down the street, pills bein popped
if i stopped preachin my meaning, hop off the soapbox
would my world fall down around me?
crumble like the cookie without milk?
stumble like the drunk across the street?
fumble like the football star shot up with roids?
i stay away, fade away out the scene
cuz these things these people do, i just dont agree
see what i mean?
im the odd one out, the man in the back
stay outta wolf packs to prep for an attack
cuz people hate the ones standin out
wishin they could be me, inside they shout
'why i gotta be scared to do that?
look at this kid, afraid of nothin.
will im stuck on even changin my hair'
just such a scare, to think im the only one
cept a couple here, a sprinkle there
fraid to go out on there own
but once you start you cant stop
like when you start listenin to old skool hip hop
when it actually had a meaning
and wasnt corporate garbage

(chorus)

125 elements, and im the odd one out
people, when they see me, stand up and shout
'shut the f*** up, kid, no one likes you'
is the reason that i wont even look at you?
if you bad to my blood or my buds
you aint worth my time, so just rewind
be kind, and go to a time
like the 60's, free thought everywhere
regularity was a sin
dont try to fit in.
