.2. Slinger Poem by David Threadgold

.2. Slinger

Could I have been a slinger?
In the dockyard on a crane
Picking up the heavy loads
Then putting down again

I’d load up all the freighters
With crates marked Timbuktu
Until the dockside has no more
With nothing left to do

You could have been a slinger! but you might want to drive the crane! those wire ropes are murderous, and leave your hands in pain you've got to get your shackles right, or else your in the poo cos if that load slips a bit! that's the end of you! lol David
