2 Years In The Making Poem by Jason Sailor

2 Years In The Making

still waiting
wondering
am i good enough?
what does she see in him?

leaning back in my desk i look over,
avoiding my eyes looking at her book for cover
what could i do, if only i knew
how to make her notice me

a blank face greeting
a very regular meeting

i want her blue eyes to light up
when i come up

i want her ed lip smile to appear
whenever i am near

these two years have been long,
i even know her favorite song

and yet still small stuff she says
get trapt in my head

you have my heart
and taring it apart
so the empty hole in my chest is yours to fill
theres plenty of time to kill

fill it with ed lip smiles
fill it with your artistic styles
fill it with the satchel, always by your side
fill it with the knowledge that we have never lied
to ourselves, like we seem to do
with all the rest of you

so know the ball is in your court my dear
are you just going to leave me here?
