#203 Just In Time Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#203 Just In Time

Just when I thought the end was near,
When all life’s color mixed with fear
And reason and logic became unclear,
A hand was lent to me.
As days and nights merged into one
With the moon resembling the previous sun,
I thought all joy had run it’s run,
But along came Amalie.

I had forgotten the flower’s smell,
And I couldn’t recall it’s magic spell
Which once cause my heart to swell.
Now I recall the memory.
The birds still flew in the evening sky
But they didn’t sing their lullaby,
It was more a yowl, a distant cry
Until came Amalie.

Life was a burden, not a gift at all
With pain and strife painted on each wall,
Then a blind journey came to a stall
And all at once, I could see.
The stars wouldn’t shine, clocks wouldn’t chime,
Every step was a mountain to climb
But then suddenly, just in time,
Along came sweet Amalie.
