#298 Dear Someday Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#298 Dear Someday

Dear Someday, where could you be?
I’ve been waiting here for you.
When will you come for me
And turn my gray skies blue?
When will you show your face
And come out of your hiding spot?
When will your soothing embrace
Calm the fears Today cannot?
Keep your chin up, or so they say,
Everything will be better Someday.

Dear Someday, when will you be here,
Bringing smiles and glad tears?
When, at last, will you appear?
Will it be days, months or years?
Are you keeping just steps ahead,
Spending the Future’s dime?
Are you holding needle and thread
Sowing the of seeds time?
They say keep your wants and hopes at bay,
Your dreams will all come true Someday.

Dear Someday, please rush, please hurry,
My chances with her are waning.
I’m frantic with fright and worry
Cause each day distance is gaining.
Though to you I’m petty and small,
You have all my faith and trust.
Have you decided not to come at all?
But you see, certainly you must,
The girl that stole my heart away
Said maybe we’ll be together Someday.
