#221 I Am A Trampoline Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#221 I Am A Trampoline

Bend me cause you think I’ll break,
Mold me like I’m clay,
Bruise me for your own sake,
Then simply throw me away.

Burn me just to hear me scream,
Drown me in your sorrow,
Steal today my every dream,
As well my hopes tomorrow.

Chop me just to watch me fall,
Yell “Timber” as I crash,
Belittle me, make me feel small
But it’ll never cure your rash.

Find your pleasure in my pain,
It’s your own blood that’s curled.
Stick this in your sadistic brain:
Nothing’s gonna change my world.

Tell me lies for your delight,
Squeeze me just for juice,
And while you rest your head at night
I’m biting my way loose.

Fire away with fierce attack,
My shield is my vaccine.
Jump on me, I’ll never crack,
I am a trampoline.
