251. Fortress In The Clouds Poem by Jaden Knight

251. Fortress In The Clouds

There is a fortress in the clouds
where I often end up there in my dreams
a more fantastic place I have not found
where nothing is as it would seem

In the courtyard the animals talk
about the beauty of walking beneath the trees
about the garden the statues walk
tending to the honey bees

The Lord and Lady dress in robes of emerald green
they know the names of all in their land
when out riding they are often seen
talking to the people and lending a hand

Every one has smiles upon their face
no one is sad and there are no cries
there is no death in this place
and there is no space for hurt and lies

The people treat me with great respect
whether they be young or old
this was one thing I did not expect
but is valued here more than gold

Everything seems to be friendly here
Water, rocks, birds, beasts and trees
never have I felt any need for fear
when they all want to talk to me

There is a fortress in the clouds
where nothing is as it should seem
a more fantastic place I have not found
but it only exists within my dreams
