.3. I Wanted Poem by David Threadgold

.3. I Wanted

Rating: 5.0

I wanted purple pebbledash
Instead they gave me blue
I wanted one large chimney
Instead they gave me two

I wanted real big windows
Instead they gave me small
I wanted shorter skirting boards
Instead they gave me tall

I wanted just a quiet life
Instead they gave me rackets
I wanted only farm fresh foods
Instead it came in packets

This seems to be a very symbolic poem...so much hidden inside soft and dark words...'There was sand near my foot and all I saw was water'...A hearty 10 to you. Gul
