.3. Shadow Monsters Poem by David Threadgold

.3. Shadow Monsters

Rating: 5.0

Within the shadows lurk monsters
Who live on all our fears
They hide away from laughter
And feed upon our tears

The monsters thrive on misery
They grow when you feel sad
Or when they hear an angry word
In times when you’ve been mad

To keep them in the shadows
Stand tall forever proud
To keep away the misery
And let yourself laugh loud

Great observations on the effects of having negative feelings. Shadow Monsters appears to be like a metaphor for emotional vampires.....forgive the psycho babble....it's a wonderful poem. I enjoyed it tremendously.
