“Kindly be reminded of today’s TE
staff meeting, please be on time.”

I am –
being in an exalted state
reminded that at 10: 30 today
we have a joyous opportunity
to hang out with like-minded
colleagues at a mouthwatering
staff meeting –

This happy expectation corrodes
my powers of attentiveness,
sublimely reminds me of being alive,
a wondrous state of an incumbent
government official post,

how shall I assume my duties
with such mellifluous sounds
enchanting my ears,
elevating my soul
infusing my spirit with
unheard-of ecstasies?

Oh, joyous Bureaucracy, what
a superb invention of mankind,
oh, Procedure with your Hierarchy
rank and file delineated – all in an
attempt to stamp out existential
crisis;

NOW I know why bureaucracy
is so important – to fence us in
safe places and plan our time
and deeds so as to never doubt
the existential premise of our
lives and being – we are not
homo sapiens, but homo
bureaucratiens!
