347. Am Going Camping This Weekend

Am going camping this weekend
in the woods just by the river
just me alone and no one else
unless you want to join me

Have all the things I require
am leaving my phone behind
don't need the distraction of calls and texts
while I take time to relax

Will take my binoculars with me
hopefully I will spot an owl
maybe run across a few deer
observing them from afar
careful not to disturb them

Might try my hand at fishing
am sure it's easy enough
watching the water flowing past
while enjoying the sounds of the coots

Every night I will sing by the fire
as I cook my evening meal
won't be anyone around for miles
so no one will know if I forget the words

Am going camping this weekend
in the woods just by the river
just me alone and no one else
unless you wish to join me
and then it will be just us two

maybe you mean as i cook my evening meal? ? sounds like you should have a great time by yourself, but it might be even nicer if a certain someone joins you. i would like to join you, but i don't live there and you didn't ask ME! of course you may not be talking about yourself. a lovely poem. i would eat the fish if you cooked them....and had chips to go with them! bri :) eventually this will end up in September's showcase, in Section A....or B. your poem Gergana will grace the other Section (B or A) . it is cool to see an owl. i've seen a few during daylight, sitting around or fleeing from crows.
