Treasure Island

38 ½ hours

After 38 ½ hours of wakenness
I am more alive than ever before

After 38 ½ hours of wakenness
I see the world through better eyes

After 38 ½ hours of wakenness
I dream no more and feel just joy

I see, I feel, I hear, I taste
Love all around
And so doth my heart go out to
Those in love
And so doth my heart to feel
That love inside

With healing hands
And healing heart I walk

Throughout this life I now
Feel nothing but love and joy
Compassion for those in love

I rejoice for them
And love for them
And know I not will find love soon

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.
