.4. A New Selection Poem by David Threadgold

.4. A New Selection

Rating: 5.0

I heard there’s a general election
Excitement I couldn’t contain
At last we’ve a brand new selection
The party in now is a pain

They promised to stop all the fighting
Our diplomats all would do more
Each constantly busy back-biting
Whilst sending our troop’s off to war

Each said we were fighting for something
Stepped into the war with a rush
A single request when the phone rang
To follow their good friend George Bush

Ignoring our failing rail network
Each region must pull back the reigns
The track laying crews couldn’t work well
Whilst others were playing at trains

Excellent. That's telling them! ! ! ! Lovely rendering of the failings of the politicians. Pain is the right word. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
