5 Am For You The Reader Poem by Jaycee Wilkerson

5 Am For You The Reader

Another restless night
Which means another night
My mind had to fight

With time and reality
I must say at these hours
Sleep looks very desirable

My mind is stuck
My body is up
All because
I can't get enough

Im up
Because of you
The reader

I write these words
For you to judge them
I rack my brain
Writing poems
Hoping you like them

The sun creeps
While everyone sleeps
Birds distracting
Almost breaking my focus

Hours past
I hope have written
My best
Submiting it
To the site

Hoping you like it
So I can sleep
Through what is left
Of the night

I yarn with a smile
Thinking you might
Like what you read
That would get me
The rest that I need

As the sun brightens
My eyes get heavthy
The words I write starts
To come together slower
The things I say
Starts to sound like whatever

I post what I have written
Just to say good rittens
Later that day
I look to see if anyone
Has commented

To no advail
No one likes
What I have written
