.5. Give Me Light Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Give Me Light

Rating: 5.0

Take away the darkness from my soul
Let my inner self see light
Remove the shades of dull within
Make all my colours bright

Don’t leave the gloomy side behind
It’s been there for a while
Help me handle happiness
See things which make me smile

Extract the morbid memories
They pull my heartstrings tight
Implant a seed of joyful tunes
To hear both day and night

Melt the icy coldness
Like torrents let it flow
Leave warmth that I can handle
To help when cold winds blow

Remove the indecision’s
Let choices made be bold
These gifts would be my treasure
Worth more to me than gold

AH - this is just the best. I am going to print it & stick it inside my cupboard door. I have been feeling so good & so grateful for it & should I ever hit a dull day this will remind me to let my inner self see light again. Wonderful poem David, thanx :)
