Step into my twilight world
Where sound is slowly going
Hearing bits of many things
As the silence keeps on growing
I try to answer questions
From speakers muffled tones
Or listen to the half-heard words
When friend or family phones
Replies are often comical
When hearing only bits
Like pieces in a puzzle
The last bit never fits
I listened to the news last night
A town had all got fleas
Until I turned the sound right up
Found out they’d all made cheese
But once inside my twilight world
I may not let you out
If I don’t hear what you’re saying
So please be sure to shout
