.5. White Waters Poem by David Threadgold

.5. White Waters

White water through the rapids
Beneath which boulders lie
Hidden traps to catch you out
If navigate you try

Your flimsy little canvas craft
Must fight the waters will
Your strength will use the wooden oars
With all your boating skill

A safety hat and jacket
Must wear to save your life
And should you tangle in the weeds
You’ll need a good sharp knife

As water rushes onwards
Adrenaline will rise
Excitement of the rapids rush
Might just be your demise

Take care when in white water
Think forward you will need
And watch out for those waterfalls
Fair warned, now please proceed
