.6. Good Old Politics Poem by David Threadgold

.6. Good Old Politics

Rating: 5.0

All politicians tell the truth
When they’re sworn into power
Most have a fixed agenda
Forgot within an hour

All politicians vow to serve
The public of our nation
By farming off their workload
In a brand new job creation

All politicians travel far
To see how others do it
Forgetting their expense accounts
In two months they’ve all blew it

All politicians want the best
But not for you or me
They want the best for them alone
And anything that’s free

All politicians want the same
A jag less work and wealth
Well practised dodging answers
Being no good for their health

All politicians hang on tight
In cupboards bones will rattle
Then jump the sinking ship in time
Before they lose the battle
