.6. Leave Well Alone Poem by David Threadgold

.6. Leave Well Alone

Rating: 5.0

Stick a poster on your bedroom wall
To cover cracking plaster
The bloke next door was hammering
And caused a mild disaster

Last week he bought a kitchen shelf
But didn’t hang it proper
He drilled the wall quite deeply
And went through something copper

Now his kitchens spurting water
From the hole the drill had made
And he’s trying to make the best of it
Bailing water with a spade

We’ve tried to curb the DIY
Of this bloke who’s rather strange
When we saw him in a tussle
Trying to move his old gas range

He asked us all to help him
We feared of being gassed
Like fools we did the moving
And through the roof we blast

So if you see a blackened range
With three charred blokes fly by
Remember should your neighbour ask
Say no, don’t even try
