887. Strength Poem by V F

887. Strength

Rating: 5.0

If I could but make you smile

If I could but make you rest awhile

If I could but stop causing you pain

If I could but wash away the remnants

If I could but erase my presence

If I could but be a little less mortal

If I could but be a little more human

If I tried.. maybe I could..

But If you could.... I would..

Emerge as a phoenix from stinking ashes

Soaring towards the new dawn..

I like this poem expresses a mixture of guilt, hope, and regret. love the line Emerge as a phoenix from the stinking ashes. Great poem.
