975 Learning To Love Poem by V F

975 Learning To Love

Rating: 5.0

Why do you have to stumble
before you learn to walk
why does a heart have to break
thousands of times
while it learns to love.
why do you have to torment me my love,
every single time?

I know -
rain rejuvenates
more so when one is aching and devoid
water tastes sweetest
after a long thirsty climb
and so,
after a fight,
love floods like the high tide.

Even so,
my heart breaks every time
everytime I do not see
your smile
and the love in your eyes
sometimes I fear
the pain seems so unbearable
thinking maybe this is the last time
maybe I shall be so bruised and battered
That I cannot love any more
