A Beautiful You Poem by Ronald Ragan

A Beautiful You

My eyes focus on the tiny raindrops
on the window.
In surrounding vision,
I could see the blur of colors racing by

I focused outwardly to see
the colors glisten in the rain.
Fall was a bittersweet beauty
as summer ended
and the days seem to fly

Leaning back in my seat
staring out at such a wondrous sight
Peace and tranquility washing over me,
something I hardly knew

Fading into the gentle rocking motion
staring outside I soon succumb to sleep

We met on that train crossing
the Oum Er-Rbia River under a grey October sky

She sat across from me
and watched the scenery with bewilderment true

Drifting to her reflection in the glass,
she draws me into her sensation
Her eyes held an absorbing custody
that shrouded an inexpressible shade of blue.

She displayed a look of amazement
as though she did not merit such beauty

Pain and joy enveloped her aura.
Her stare moved towards me.
I anticipated our gaze to meet

I could never turn away and would be forever lost
in the beauty of you.
