A Color Of A Hug Poem by Richard Ford Bunuel Whale Carnegie Edison Simon Hitchcock Welles Christ Antunes Rodriguez Kubrick

A Color Of A Hug

A color of a hug
Is a color of love
Is it yellow like the sun
Or as white as the distant stars

Cut out from construction paper
Is the color of a hug
Like the red of a heart
For your secret valentine

Of a story of grade school crush
Or that of an adulthood of a heart
Not so secret with tell tale signs
Shaped red box of chocolates

For what is a hug but an embrace
Between us two in innocence
Because true love is always innocent
In youth or adulthood

Her eyes I stare into longingly
From afar or a lead up to a kiss
Up close to lean in
Is the color of a hug the color out of shape

Is the color that of her perfume
Or the smell of her scent
The color of a hug is warmth between us two
You can't get off each other for weeks
