A Day For Him Poem by Gail Hudson

A Day For Him

Rating: 5.0

the promise of tomorrow will show itself again.
what a pity,
another yesterday's tomorrow
has itself become a yesterday,
a memory, a past, a waste, a wedding, a birth, a death.
another meaningless day
that some will remember as the best day of their waking lives
and others will cringe at the very mention of.
and i remain unchanged.
i do not know the day, the date
and i try my best to forget the rest.
i sit naked, pleased with my genuine disinterest
and wonder what beautiful, sweet nothings
tomorrow will bring
