A Day Of Closure Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Day Of Closure

She wore a dress of black
her self-assigned position
placed her in the back

Her face was veiled
she could see family sadness
she heard her own breath exhale

Her love was one of secrecy
she bore him children
She had his name, but not legally

Before the service began
she stood and walked to the door
leaving with memories of the married man
