A Drink Of Water Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Drink Of Water

Rating: 5.0

The well is deep and dark and cool,
And the coolest drinks are deeper still.
Drop the bucket deep in the pool,
Then bring it up and drink your fill.

Drop your bucket to the bottom of the well,
Expend the effort, it's well worth the time.
To quench the thirst of which you tell,
Drinking the waters so sublime.

Life giving waters from deep in the well,
It's worth your soul to take a drink.
So dropp that bucket, cause I can tell,
It's so much later than you think.
