A Falling Star Poem by Ryan Lyle

A Falling Star

Rating: 5.0

We gathered around for a falling star
Hold on tight for their good sake
A tainted sole has no innocent smile
There is only one path flavored of blue
And you’ll find that reflecting in my eyes
A field grows there, the one filled with tragedy

Run straight to me, the noise will fade away
I know the ashes burn your feet, so I will wash them clean
Arms of pounding blood, bound to your needs
Don’t stray away

Floods will come in the fall, but I won’t let you
Stamp the letter a single tear for my address
Home is where obscurity strays
There will come a thousand wars
Watch for the burning bridge
The one that will steer you through

Run straight to me, the noise will fade away
I know the ashes burn your feet, so I will wash them clean
Arms of pounding blood, bound to your needs
Don’t stray away

Hold on, hold a smile on through
Hold on for someone else’s sake
