A Fanciful Expectancy Poem by Jiang Haizhou

A Fanciful Expectancy

Rating: 5.0

Lights are slowly turning about,
As a white cloud just moves over.
It seems someone is coming,
I have given loneliness a thorough cleaning
To enter a cool afternoon.

Every leaf is expiring the odorous air of Pure Land after rain
—from the folding screen, the profile of distant hills emerge
And images of pagoda, the reflex of the sunset is gradually
Counting through the neat books on the shelf, inclining to
Pick out its own one: the sutra that hasn’t been written
Directing the esoteric prophecy of the image via pen point
Of feather. In the prophecy, there has kind of a bell-chiming tonality
Echoing in the hall of the preexistence. With closed eyes and
Leaning by the columniation, you are listening to a good many bygones
Which are like daffadillies opened in the whole piano practice studio
Dotted with stars ……

When the familiar sound passing the corridor,
We slightly raise our heads of dream and
With a friendly smile facing the entering stranger
Who opens the door.
