A Farmer's Life 4 - A Bowl Of Oil

Rating: 5.0

A Bowl of Oil

'Just twice! ', wondered Narada
'While I recite His name day in
And day out! ' He asked the Lord
Exactly this question.

Lord said, 'I will answer you, Sage.
But I have an urgent task. Please take
This bowl filled with oil around the world
Without spilling a drop.'

The most trivial wish of Lord is an order,
No questions asked, the sage set out
Engrossed in the task and returned
To the Lord, without spilling a drop of oil.

"Nishkama karma" is what Bhagawat Gita (the philosophical discourse by Lord Krishna to Warrior Arjuna, as retold in Epic Mahabharata) . This means that every duty of every living being is assigned and ordained by Lord, Krishna himself. That is exactly what Narada does.
