A Feast For Alexander The Great Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

A Feast For Alexander The Great

Bite your way into this wondrous banquet
Garnered with cutlery made from gold
Wine as ageless as the amphoras of Odysseus
Halls festooned with aconite and nymphs
Music from the lyres and tympanums
Indulge your senses to unlimited excursions
Go under the swirl of a Dionysian spell
Until you are overcome in giddiness
Unaware the toxin slithering through those intestine
Was the recipe for your demise.
