A Feather Finally Falls Poem by Rafael Yaw Kumi

A Feather Finally Falls

When e’er do they take to flight?
I marvel at their majestic glide so light
How hither they come yet yonder reach the greatest heights
A feather in a million; a word in a lifetime of poetry
All comes to rest when a feather finally falls

Raging winds with fancy nomenclature
Trade, Monsoon or Atlantic – all kin to nature
Alas! Overwhelmingly are they tasked to carry my feathers of fantasies
They kiss the earth’s temptation, their sumptuous lips fly away only to kiss her again
Do you not know that love’s rage is sated when a feather finally falls?

Ask me how. Just ask me.
