A Final Dream Poem by eathan Scala

A Final Dream

My eyes open slowly through the shutters
I am taking in the sunlight
Creeping sounds of waves crashing against my still sleeping mind
This glare is too bright.

Awaking secretly to stalk me today…is my fear of the loss I found,
Turning to u taken away …this empty space next to me … a
Space of memories of warm summer nights of passion
Now fading, crushed, overlooked like its no longer in fashion.

I sit up kissing the sunrise… for its all I have left to share
With this morning
My eye catches your clothes lying there …
Whispering a warning…
Not to go after you, not to wish for one more night.
Leaving my castle…driving my car…god this sun is bright.

On a quest to find my one night angel …I speed up my car.
Dodging Traffic calling
I look...Wondering where they are.
Saying I should stop…im falling
A bang awakes my drifting car...Screaming tires bringing me back
Dropping down away from the mountain top,

My eyes are closing, my heart racing. Then it’s slowing.
My window open and fresh Last breaths are taken,
Wind is blowing. White light is calling…
My god im falling

I wake up to the sunlight creeping through my shutters
I turn to find her there
My hands touching her face slowly…running through her hair,

Then I smile as she awakes looking into her eyes
Seeing her soul…it’s good and for now im whole
