A Final Prayer Poem by Katherine Perry

A Final Prayer

Rating: 5.0

I think i'll make today
A day like none before
Cause you may never know
How tomorrow will ever go
If death comes a knockin at your door

So i think i'll start with a prayer
And ask God if he's really there
Cause it's important for him to hear me
when i say
That time and time again
I've thought about my sins
And i'm asking for forgiveness here today

Even though i have asked before
I have since sinned some more
And it scares me to think i've disappointed
you
But i pray you judge my heart
Cause caring about others is a part
Of everything i choose to say and do

It's been a while since i've been to church
It's because inside i was not sure
What to do about the weakness of not standing
my ground
And i know what is right
But i've been fighting this all my life
All it does is get me into trouble i have found

So i thank you for all my days
And the blessings you have given me
And i pray you keep my children safe from pain
Cause their hearts are big and true
From the compassion they have for others that
shines through
And i pray for all these things in Jesus name!
