A Fire Inside Poem by Erwick Brandon

A Fire Inside

(Verse 1)
There's a burning deep within me
that's yearning for a chance to be
alone with you so you can see
just exactly what you mean to me.
No one will ever quite understand.
They'll try to hurt us both in the end.
You said your ready and willing to take it that far.
I found the perfect rooftop right under the stars.

(Chorus)
So let's scream our lungs out my baby.
Let them see that we are burning.
There's a fire inside that consumes all of me.
I'll burn for you darling till there's nothing left of me.
I'm ready to take on whatever comes our way.
No one will ever put out this flame.

(Verse 2)
This rooftop was made just for us.
High enough where we can't be touched.
They may create a riot down on the ground.
But lucky for us we can't hear a sound.
The moon and stars are within our grasp.
I'll give it all to you just hold out your hand.

(Chorus)
So let's scream our lungs out my baby.
Let them see that we are burning.
There's a fire inside that consumes all of me.
I'll burn for you darling till there's nothing left of me.
I'm ready to take on whatever comes our way.
No one will ever put out this flame.

(Bridge)
Dancing amongst the swirling embers.
We won't come down-not now, not ever.
This is how it's supposed to be.
Forget the world-it's you and me.

(Chorus)
So let's scream our lungs out my baby.
Let them see that we are burning.
There's a fire inside that consumes all of me.
I'll burn for you darling till there's nothing left of me.
I'm ready to take on whatever comes our way.
No one will ever put out this flame.
