A Fool Denies Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Fool Denies

Rating: 5.0

A fool denies Heaven on high
Denies that's Christ's alive
No God would send His Son to die
So that His slayers thrive

A fool believes in what he sees
What's heard, to touch or smell
Seeking the things his lusts to please
His senses lead to hell

Yet still he thinks he's walking right
His ways are far from wrong
Hoarding the stuff that bring delight
Singing the devil's song

Dancing to Satan's tune of choice
In orgies, drunk with glee
Heeding his master's evil voice
The Truth he fails to see

Whilst blinded by his wayward thoughts
Oblivious to love
He's deaf to Jesus' true reports
Leading the way above

Though selfish is the heart of man
If to himself he's true
He'll see God's love His graceful plan
Ordained for life anew

We'll see how far we've gone astray
Our hearts will understand
Ceasing to walk man's selfish way
We'll see The Truth first hand

We'll put the devil hoard to flight
Well seek The Father's will
With Jesus as our guiding light
We'll climb God's Holy Hill
