A Fossil Stone: My Thrashed Soul Poem by Mariana Zane

A Fossil Stone: My Thrashed Soul

Rating: 5.0

Therez a stillness in the way the sun is fading into the night
I have nothing to ask and I seek no answers tonight
As I envy the happiness for deserting me alone
I ignore the staring silence as a fossil stone

Too long I have loved you no less than a devotee
And my sadness wonders why you would not want me
I seeked no favours, I desire no luxury
"Togetherness" is all I want from your treasury

Beneath the sinking thought of being unable to see you again
My conscience compels me to look for a bargain
I was willing to adjust, I am ready to wait
But for the sake of our love, show me some faith

I promise to be the strength behind your decision
But giving up on "us" is such a derision
I have been so truthful, n I trusted you always
The thought of being fooled enduringly stays

The more you wavered, the more would my heart assert
To love you a lot more so that you could revert
The more you were weak, the more I would fear
Who would love you, when I am not near

And the less I thought of my own importance
The weaker you became in your vacillating stance
I looked up to you as my lucky charm
You thrashed my soul, what you did was harm

Your fake promises drench my broken soul
In a filthy betrayal that stinks in whole
I see the courage as such an expensive deal
As you choose stepping back over determined heel

As I stand today with a piece of my faith lost
I would come back stronger, whatever be the cost
I would rebuild my life from the desertion midway
You might be gone, but the truth in me will stay!

Beautiful depiction of disappointment in bliss of love, well articulated and nicely penned in good rhyme scheme with conviction. An insightful poem well brought forth from inner recesses of the heart. Thanks for sharing Mariana. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.
