A new world lied below me,
in shield of my shadow.
It cried; a tear fell off me
on its sparkled cheeks.
Then its twigs evolved, gently, clung to me.
The earth echoed its happy cries.
It danced; it stole a tear off me.
Few years and it was a friend
Leafless, its sticks, surrounded me
One winter, I glimpsed grief on its face.
It wept; I tried but my tears froze on me.
Then I gifted it colours like every summer
And its smiles seemed those flowers that bear me.
Bliss, that heartened me went on for a little until,
I cried and every tear fell off me
On its wrinkled cheeks.
Winters ended it. That's how I feel!
