A Grudge Poem by Nandita Menon

A Grudge

Rating: 3.0

A grudge
A grudge I have on you forever
I may like you but love u never
You’ve scarred my delicate heart
Made of it an edible tart

You may think of it as fun
but I wish u know what you’ve done
Cease this detestable demeanor
You have a choice now or never
Your words cannot be taken back
You may be competent at this
u may have a knack
Now apologizing will do no good
I wonder o wonder why u should?
The life of an introvert isn’t the same
As of now I have no one to blame
Since he tends to read between the lines
That is why his friends do shine
You’ve cleaned your pathway as u go
Not even a speck of dirt remained to throw
Of all this I fear
When you tend to get near
Since you’ve lured me into this trap
Made me open my wings and flap
Now I’ve built a poison tree
If u eat the fruit I’ll be free
Or just stay away from me
Stay away from me far apart
And do not throw another poisoned dart
