A Human Study Poem by Sandra Feldman

A Human Study

Rating: 2.8

I study feelings,
It's what I do best,
Not bragging,
Just understanding,
Seeing,
How feelings,
In other human beings,
Nest,
The gestures, the eyes,
The movements,
The internal pound,
The language that is said,
Without making a sound.

A thrilling sensation,
Observing all this,
To me it means,
Deep Human communication,
Truly does exist.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I first discovered the silent language of the eyes, of movement and feelings through the incomparable acting of Bette Davis. What Bette Davis' eyes expressed on film, no one since has ever managed to do. Bette, you still inspire me, thank you.

Very good topic to explore and explore you did. I like the way you see things and pick novel words to describe what you see- - - - - - - - - ]Seeing, How feelings, In other human beings, Nest, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -] Nest! A perfect word for this observation! I keep returning to it [like a homing bird- sorry, couldn't help having a little fun there]. Then there's the conclusion- - - - - - - - - - - - - -]Deep Human communication, Truly does exist. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ] I hope you are right because then it would mean people still care enough about other people to observe them. This is a high quality poem. Bette Davis could do fire and ice and snarky better than any actress I ever saw!
