A Lightning Strike In Time Poem by Chi Flores

A Lightning Strike In Time

Rating: 5.0

This world of phenomenon, breathtaking marvel,
Believe it is true and forever let be,
Here I am in this lightning strike in time,
The day and night belong not to me.
How typical, easy, selfish and wicked
Would I be to live life a storm,
Ruins and wrecks left behind in my wake,
An etching of scars for lifetimes to see.
No, I will tip toe my way to old splendour,
I will take but I will give more,
And I will smile with my last breath,
Holding nothing but a memory,
How beautiful this place is and forever will be.
